Video transcript - How to cover grey hair

This video shows how to apply Herbatint Permanent Colouring Gel.

Before application – Sensitivity test

  • Take a small amount of colour with a cotton swab.
  • Place it on a bandage.
  • Stick the bandage on the forearm and wait 48 hours to check for any reactions.

What you need

  • towel
  • bowl
  • measuring cup
  • comb
  • protective barrier cream
  • clips
  • brush

Herbatint box contents

  • 1 colour bottle (60 mL)
  • 1 developer bottle (60 mL)
  • 1 Royal Cream conditioner (50 mL)
  • instructions printed inside the packaging
  • 1 pair of protective gloves

Steps

  1. Preparation: Place the towel over your shoulders and secure it with a clip to protect your clothes.
  2. Put on the gloves: Always wear the enclosed gloves to protect your hands throughout the process.
  3. Prepare the mixture: Pour equal parts colour and developer into the bowl. Mix well until you obtain a smooth gel. Any unused, unmixed product can be stored for future applications.
  4. Protect the skin: Apply the barrier cream along the hairline (forehead, ears, hairline) to avoid staining.
  5. Start application: Using the brush, apply the product to the hairline. With the comb, divide the hair into four sections to help achieve even coverage.
  6. Treat regrowth: Apply a generous amount of product to the regrowth to achieve optimal grey coverage.
  7. Processing time: Leave the colour on for 40 minutes.
  8. Rinse thoroughly: Rinse the hair with plenty of water until the product is completely removed.
  9. Wash the hair: Use your regular shampoo or Herbatint Color Safe Shampoo for optimal colour longevity.
  10. Apply conditioner: Use the Royal Cream conditioner included in the box. Apply to the lengths, leave in briefly, then rinse.
  11. Dry the hair: Blot with a towel and proceed to complete drying.

Result

Intensely coloured, shiny hair with even grey coverage.
